About this opportunity

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is seeking to acquire Enzyme-linked Immunsorbant Assay (ELISA) testing kits for the measurement of brevetoxin in seafood from SeaTox Research Inc. for a period of up to 3 years. The ELISA kits must be approved by the Interstate Shellfish Sanitation Conference for use in regulatory shellfish testing for biotoxins. The estimated dollar amount for this single source purchase is up to $750,000. The justification for the single source acquisition is that the brevetoxin ELISA kit is the only test kit approved by the Interstate Shellfish Sanitation Conference for testing shellfish for Neurotoxic Shellfish Poisoning (NSP) within a regulatory framework, which is required to fulfill the FWC's mandate to provide technical support to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. SeaTox Research Inc. is the new sole distributor of these ELISA kits, as the previous single source vendor, Marbionic, has transferred the brevetoxin ELISA kits to SeaTox.

This is a single source procurement, and therefore there are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The incumbent vendor is SeaTox Research Inc., as the sole distributor of the approved ELISA kits. The procurement has an estimated value of up to $750,000 over the 3-year period.
