About this opportunity
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) is seeking to procure and maintain Sea-Bird Scientific Conductivity, Temperature, Depth Profilers and Auxiliary Sensors through a single-source procurement process. The FWRI requires these instruments to measure ocean water quality for their Harmful Algal Bloom group. The procurement includes the purchase of new equipment as well as the service and maintenance of four existing profilers and sensors. Sea-Bird Scientific is the sole manufacturer and authorized service provider for these specialized instruments, which must be recalibrated annually. The contract term is three years upon issuance of the purchase order, with an estimated dollar amount of $150,000. The FWRI has determined that these commodities or contractual services are only available from this single source, and is requesting information from prospective vendors regarding their ability to supply the required products and services. Responses must be submitted by October 12, 2022 at 9:30 AM ET.
The single-source procurement is open to all vendors, and there are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The FWRI has not identified any incumbent vendors or current contractors for these services, and there is no mention of any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. The estimated budget for this procurement is $150,000.
