About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh produce delivery to seven correctional facilities under Documented Quote DQ 2027000016, with quotes due July 22, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time and deliveries scheduled for the week of July 27–29, 2026.
The scope covers fresh fruits (apples, bananas, oranges, pears) and vegetables (carrots, celery, bell peppers, onions, lettuce varieties, potatoes) in specified quantities to be delivered to Buena Vista Correctional Complex, Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility, Central Warehouse, Sterling Correctional Facility, Denver Women's Correctional Facility, Denver Reception & Diagnostic Center, and Limon Correctional Facility. All produce must meet current United States Department of Agriculture standards for required grades; minimum shelf life of 10 days applies to salad mix and shredded lettuce upon delivery. All pricing is F.O.B. Destination and all-inclusive, with vendors responsible for incorporating shipping costs into bids. The awarded brand becomes the exclusive brand for delivery with no substitutions permitted.
Award will be made to the responsible bidder whose acceptable quote is most advantageous to CDOC, with price as the primary consideration and sample quality and lead time as secondary factors. Pricing must remain firm during the initial Purchase Order term. Written inquiries are due July 20, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST.
Prior to Purchase Order execution, the awarded vendor must provide proof of Good Standing with the Colorado Secretary of State, a certificate of insurance meeting specified limits (Commercial General Liability minimum $1,000,000 per occurrence), and complete an Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days. All contractor personnel delivering goods may be required to complete background screening, fingerprinting, and drug testing. Bidders must be registered with the Colorado Secretary of State and Bidnet Direct, certify compliance with state tax obligations, and disclose any prior contract defaults or litigation against Colorado.
