About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply correctional facility kitchens, with quotes due October 20, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST via bidnetdirect.com/cdoc and a Notice of Intent to Award estimated for October 22, 2026. A set-aside consideration for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) applies; SDVOSB bidders must provide Department of Veterans Affairs certification documentation.
Fresh eggs must meet USDA Grade A standards, available in brown or white varieties, in medium or large loose pack format with either 15 or 30 dozen per case. Eggs must be stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery and transported at temperatures not exceeding 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Delivery is required during the week of October 26–30, 2026 to three locations: Central Warehouse in Canon City, Limon Correctional Facility, and Sterling Correctional Facility. The order specifies 300 cases (30-dozen) or 600 cases (15-dozen) distributed as follows: Colorado Women's Correctional Facility 180 cases, Limon Correctional Facility 30 cases, and Silver Creek Facility 90 cases. All pricing must be itemized on the Exhibit D Price Quote form with all fees inclusive of shipping, surcharges, and taxes on an F.O.B. Destination basis. Pricing shall remain firm throughout the Purchase Order term. Substitutions from the awarded brand will not be accepted; rejected products are returned at vendor expense. Three delivery failures may result in disqualification from future solicitations for three years or indefinitely. Bidders must provide minimum three calendar days' written notice if unable to meet delivery schedules.
No contract value is guaranteed; the Purchase Order term covers ordered quantities with no guaranteed order quantities or dollar amounts. Award will be made to the responsible bidder whose acceptable quote is determined most advantageous to CDOC, with price as the primary consideration and sample quality and lead time also evaluated. Prior to Purchase Order execution, awarded bidders must provide proof of Good Standing with the Colorado Secretary of State, an insurance certificate, and CORE registration. All contractor personnel must complete CDOC Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days of award. Written inquiries are due October 19, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. MST. Bidders must complete and return all exhibits, register with Bidnet Direct, and submit required certifications including W-9, Non-Conflict of Interest, Consent to Search Authorization, and Contract Performance Outside the US or Colorado disclosure.
