About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply four correctional facility kitchens, with quotes due September 24, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time and written inquiries due September 21, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST.
Eggs must meet USDA Grade A standards in brown or white varieties, available in 15 or 30 dozen per case quantities, stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery. Delivery is required during the week of September 28 through October 2, 2026 to Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility in Crowley, Buena Vista Correctional Complex in Buena Vista, Central Warehouse in Canon City, and Sterling Correctional Facility in Sterling. The initial order encompasses 210 cases of 30-dozen eggs (or 420 cases if 15-dozen pack sizes are quoted), distributed across the four locations. Eggs must arrive at temperatures not exceeding 45 degrees Fahrenheit in appropriate transport containers. No specific quantities are guaranteed; CDOC reserves the right to request increases, decreases, or delivery to additional areas.
Award will be made on a purchase-order basis to the responsible bidder whose acceptable quote is determined most advantageous, with price as the primary consideration and other factors including sample quality and lead time for delivery. All pricing must be submitted itemized with unit costs and extended totals. Pricing is all-inclusive with no additional shipping charges or surcharges; vendors must account for shipping costs in bids. Products are F.O.B. Destination with pricing firm during the purchase-order term. The awarded brand will be the sole brand delivered with no substitutions permitted; rejected products are returned at the vendor's expense. Vendors must provide three calendar days' written notice if unable to meet delivery schedules; failure to deliver on three separate occasions results in vendor disqualification for up to three years.
Prior to purchase-order execution, awarded vendors must provide proof of good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State, an insurance certificate, and complete an Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days of award. All contractor personnel accessing CDOC facilities must sign a consent to search authorization form and comply with facility security provisions prohibiting weapons, contraband, tobacco, and cell phones without prior authorization. Quotes must be submitted electronically through bidnetdirect.com/cdoc; bidders must be registered with Bidnet Direct. All exhibits A through G must be completed and returned, including W-9, vendor information, non-conflict of interest, and consent to search forms.
