About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply five correctional facilities under Documented Quote DQ 2027000031, with quotes due July 30, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time and an estimated notice of intent to award on July 30, 2026.
The scope calls for U.S. Grade A eggs, brown or white, medium or large in loose pack cases of 15 or 30 dozen, USDA inspected and stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery. Total order is 420 cases of 30-dozen eggs (or 840 cases of 15-dozen, depending on pack size offered) for delivery during the week of August 3–7, 2026 to five delivery points: Buena Vista Correctional Complex, Central Warehouse in Canon City, Denver Women's Correctional Facility, Limon Correctional Facility, and Sterling Correctional Facility. Eggs must be transported at temperatures not exceeding 45 degrees Fahrenheit in appropriate containers. All pricing is FOB Destination with freight prepaid and all-inclusive; no additional surcharges or taxes will be paid by CDOC.
Price is the primary consideration for award, though sample quality and delivery lead time may also be evaluated. CDOC reserves the right to award multiple bidders if in the agency's best interest. Three separate non-deliveries within the agreed timeframe may result in disqualification from future solicitations for three years or indefinitely.
Bidders must submit quotes electronically through bidnetdirect.com/cdoc with completed Exhibits A through F, including statement of work, vendor information, W-9, pricing schedule, contract performance outside U.S. or Colorado disclosure, and non-conflict of interest certification. Written inquiries are due July 27, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.; CDOC responses are estimated for July 28, 2026. Bidders must be registered with the Colorado Secretary of State and maintain proof of good standing. Awarded bidders must provide insurance certificates (minimum $1,000,000 commercial general liability), complete enhanced criminal background investigations within thirty days, and comply with facility access restrictions.
