About this opportunity

The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply correctional facility kitchens across five locations in Colorado, with quotes due June 4, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST and written inquiries due June 1, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST. The anticipated Notice of Intent to Award, Purchase Order execution, and start date are all June 4, 2026. Price is the primary evaluation criterion, though sample quality and lead time for delivery may also be evaluated.

The scope requires U.S. Grade A eggs (brown or white, medium or large), USDA inspected, in loose-pack cases of 15 or 30 dozen, stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery. Delivery is required during the week of June 8–12, 2026 to Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility (Crowley), Buena Vista Correctional Complex (Buena Vista), Central Warehouse (Canon City), Denver Women's Correctional Facility (Denver), and Sterling Correctional Facility (Sterling). Total quantity is 210 cases of 30 dozen (or 420 cases of 15 dozen if that pack size is proposed). All pricing must be all-inclusive, with shipping costs incorporated into the bid and delivery F.O.B. Destination. Pricing must remain firm during the Purchase Order term. Vendors must provide minimum three calendar days' written notice if unable to meet delivery schedules; failure to deliver on three separate occasions may result in disqualification from future CDOC solicitations for up to three years or indefinitely.

Bidders must register with BidNet Direct to submit responses and must be registered with the Colorado Secretary of State prior to Purchase Order execution. All bidders must complete Exhibits A–F (Statement of Work, Required Bidder Information, W-9, Price Quote, Contract Performance Outside the U.S. or Colorado disclosure, and Non-Conflict of Interest certification). Before Purchase Order execution, the awarded bidder must provide proof of Good Standing with the Colorado Secretary of State, an insurance certificate meeting standard commercial general liability and other coverage requirements, and submit to a CDOC Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days. Bidders are encouraged to register in the CORE system and enroll in Electronic Funds Transfers for payment. The State is exempt from federal excise taxes and state/local government use taxes.
