Fresh Eggs

The state and local contract opportunity is an Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, specifically for the State Correctional Institution at Graterford located in Montgomery County, Grampian Borough. The procurement seeks a vendor to supply fresh shell eggs, with a precise requirement of 19,500 dozen USDA Grade A large eggs to be delivered in three separate installments on 10/8, 11/8, and 12/9. Eggs must meet stringent USDA standards and be packaged in 30-dozen cases, with a mandatory labeling requirement specifying an expiration date no more than 35 days from packaging. The bid submission deadline is September 16, 2013, at 1:00 PM, with interested vendors required to complete a bid form that includes their company name, address, phone number, and vendor number if available. Bidders must carefully adhere to the specified delivery schedule and packaging requirements to be considered for the contract.

The IFB documentation does not explicitly mention any set-aside designations for disadvantaged businesses or specific restrictions on vendor qualifications. There is no indication of incumbent vendors or existing technological infrastructure requirements for this procurement. The contract appears to be a one-time delivery arrangement for a three-month period without any renewal options. While specific budget ranges are not detailed in the available documentation, the procurement is for a specific quantity of eggs across three delivery dates. Potential bidders should carefully review the IFB document to understand the full scope of requirements, packaging specifications, and delivery expectations for this fresh egg procurement opportunity for the State Correctional Institution.
