About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting bids on fresh eggs for delivery to three correctional facilities — Buena Vista Correctional Complex, Central Warehouse in Canon City, and Denver Women's Correctional Facility — with quotes due October 13, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST via bidnetdirect.com/cdoc and a Notice of Intent to Award estimated for October 15, 2026.
Eggs must be U.S. Grade A, brown or white, in loose pack format (15 or 30 dozen per case), USDA inspected, stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery, and delivered at temperatures not exceeding 45 degrees Fahrenheit. The initial order calls for 180 cases of 30-dozen packs for delivery during the week of October 19–23, 2026. The brand selected at award will be the only brand accepted; no substitutions are permitted. All pricing must be itemized and all-inclusive with no additional shipping, surcharges, or taxes; vendors must account for delivery costs in their bids. Pricing must remain firm for the duration of the purchase order term. Products must be approved nutritionally prior to award; samples may be required at the vendor's sole expense and will not be returned.
Price is the primary evaluation factor, though sample quality and lead time may also be considered. The CDOC reserves the right to award to multiple bidders and may request future increases or decreases in quantity or delivery to other CDOC areas. No guaranteed minimum or maximum quantities are specified.
Vendors must complete all required exhibits including a Non-Conflict of Interest certification (Exhibit F), Vendor Information for Goods (Exhibit B), W-9 (Exhibit C), and Consent to Search (Exhibit G). Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses may submit documentation for consideration. All awarded bidders must complete an Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days of notification, register in CORE through Vendor Self Service, and maintain appropriate insurance coverage. Vendors must register with the Colorado Secretary of State and certify payment of applicable state taxes. Written inquiries are due October 12, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. MST.
