About this opportunity

The Jordan School District (JSD) in Utah is seeking a vendor to provide fresh baked pizza for its 68 schools serving over 57,400 students across multiple communities including Bluffdale, Herriman, and West Jordan. The Request for Proposals (RFP) aims to establish a one-year contract with four potential one-year renewals, with an estimated annual requirement of 126,000 pizzas (approximately 700 pizzas per day). Vendors must provide 14-16 inch pizzas with specific nutritional requirements, including whole grain rich crust, low-fat cheese, and low saturated fat meats, with cheese, pepperoni, and Hawaiian pizza varieties mandatory. The evaluation process will involve a three-stage review, including a responsiveness determination, a technical proposal evaluation worth 100 points (with a minimum threshold of 75 points), and a cost proposal evaluation. Proposals are due on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. MST, with vendor questions accepted until Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. MDT.

The solicitation includes several compliance requirements, such as a Public Contract Boycott Restriction Statement mandating vendors certify they are not engaged in economic boycotts, and a URS Post-Retired Verification form for independent contractors. Vendors must complete a Vendor Information Sheet and adhere to Jordan School District's Standard Terms and Conditions, which cover various legal and operational requirements. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned, the district requires vendors to comply with anti-discrimination employment practices and Utah immigration verification laws. The contract will be awarded to the most advantageous proposal considering both price and evaluation factors, with pricing expected to include delivery charges and no additional fuel surcharges. Although a precise contract value is not specified, the scale of 126,000 annual pizzas across 68 schools suggests a significant potential contract opportunity for a qualified pizza vendor capable of meeting the district's nutritional and logistical requirements.
