About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is issuing a notice of single source procurement for the acquisition of four Fotokite Sigma Transport Case Systems, an actively tethered drone system designed for emergency response operations. The FDOT is seeking these specialized systems from the sole source vendor, Perspective Robotics US LLC, as the Fotokite Sigma's unique tethered design allows for their use without the typical FAA certification and licensing requirements for drones. Interested vendors must provide information regarding their ability to supply the requested commodities by May 26, 2023. If FDOT determines that the systems are only available from a single source, it will post notice of its intended single source contract award on the Vendor Bid System. The estimated value of this procurement is $138,000 and includes options for additional tablets, accessories, service/warranty packages, and on-site training.

This procurement is limited to the State of Florida, with the primary jurisdictions being Leon County and the City of Tampa. The solicitation does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. Additionally, no incumbent vendors or current contractors are listed, and the solicitation does not mention any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration.
