About this opportunity
Farmington Public Schools has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation #7604 seeking a comprehensive food service management company to operate its food service program across seven schools serving approximately 4,000 students. The procurement encompasses full management of food service operations, potentially including the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP). The selected vendor will be responsible for all aspects of food service management, including menu planning, purchasing, receiving, storing, cafeteria operations, counter service, cleanup, sanitation, training, hiring and supervising personnel, and presenting food to maximize student participation. The solicitation opened on March 31, 2022, and proposals are due by May 16, 2022, at 2:00 PM EDT, with a vendor question and answer period running from March 31 to April 18, 2022. The contract will require the use of federally donated commodities and will involve Free On Board Destination delivery terms with vendor-specified payment terms.
The RFP does not specify any specific set-aside designations or restrictions on vendor participation, indicating the solicitation is open to all qualified vendors. No incumbent vendor information is provided, and the document does not outline specific evaluation criteria or award methodology. While the RFP includes a Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) approved contract template, it does not specify an estimated total contract value or budget range. The solicitation provides contact information for Alicia Bowman at Farmington Public Schools as the primary point of contact for questions and proposal submissions. The contract appears to be structured to provide maximum flexibility for potential vendors while maintaining comprehensive requirements for food service management across the district's seven schools.
