About this opportunity
This procurement opportunity is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Florida Department of Health (DOH) Newborn Hearing Screening (NBHS) Program, also known as the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Program. The RFI seeks information from entities in Florida with experience providing newborn hearing screening and follow-up diagnostic testing services for infants and children up to three years old. The program is interested in conducting a pilot project to increase access to pediatric audiology services, including diagnostic testing, in areas with limited access. The key objectives are to identify and screen infants who missed initial screening, provide diagnostic assessments, and ensure timely enrollment in early intervention services. Respondents must have a doctoral degree in audiology, a Florida audiologist license, the ability to bill private insurance and Medicaid, and the capacity to conduct various hearing screening and diagnostic assessments. Responses are due by 5:00 p.m. on July 29, 2022.
The RFI does not involve the award of a contract but will be used to determine the feasibility of issuing a future competitive solicitation for these services. Vendors who submit responses are not prohibited from responding to any related subsequent solicitation. The RFI does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The DOH will review the responses to assess the feasibility and potential service delivery metrics, but no award value or budget range is provided.
