About this opportunity

The Macon Water Authority is seeking sealed bids for a Flex Wing Rotary Cutter through Invitation for Bid #25-001-WBS, with bids due by 12:00 noon on March 12, 2025, and a public bid opening scheduled for 2:00 PM the same day. The procurement is specifically for a new rotary cutter with precise technical specifications, including a 15-foot cutting width, 2-inch cutting capacity, 50 HP tractor PTO requirement, and 11-gauge deck thickness. Key deliverables include a fully operational rotary cutter with single-row chain guards, laminated or pneumatic 4-bolt tires, and 540 or 1000 PTO RPM capability. Bidders must submit sealed bids to the Macon Water Authority at 790 Second Street, Macon, Georgia 31201, with bid envelopes clearly marked "Bid For Flex Wing Rotary Cutter". Requests for bid interpretation must be submitted by March 7, 2025, and bids will remain valid for 60 days after opening. The evaluation criteria include price, reputation, financial responsibility, and experience, with the Authority reserving the right to award to a bidder other than the lowest if deemed in their best interest.

The procurement does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The equipment must be delivered FOB Destination to 537 Hemlock Street, Macon, GA 31201, with pricing required to include all delivery costs and the unit must be ready to use upon delivery. Notably, gear boxes must come with a 5-year warranty, and bidders may propose equivalent products that meet or exceed specifications, provided they submit comprehensive documentation proving equivalency. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the Authority indicates flexibility in the procurement process, potentially allowing for individual or lump sum awards. The procurement is specifically targeting equipment for the Macon Water Authority's Facilities and Fleet division, located in Bibb County, Georgia. Potential vendors should be prepared to demonstrate technical compliance, provide comprehensive documentation, and meet the stringent performance and warranty requirements outlined in the bid documents.
