About this opportunity
The City of Marietta/Board of Lights and Water is issuing Request for Proposals (RFP-24-049616) for the design and construction of a lean-to roof addition to the Fleet Maintenance Building. The project requires contractors to design and construct a metal lean-to structure measuring approximately 48 feet wide by 30 feet long by 18 feet high to cover an existing adjacent concrete slab and provide additional covered vehicle work area. The addition must be attached to the existing building at or above the first purlin height above existing bay doors, with contractors required to provide engineered sealed design and construction drawings following bid award and permit acquisition. Evaluation criteria include proposal pricing (50% weight), contractor experience (20%), previous similar applications and construction (20%), and project timeline (10%). Sealed proposals are due by 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the City of Marietta Purchasing Division, 205 Lawrence Street, Marietta, Georgia 30060. A mandatory pre-proposal conference will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at the City of Marietta Public Works Complex, 725 North Marietta Parkway, Marietta, Georgia 30060, with only registered attendees' proposals accepted. Proposals must remain valid for 90 days following the proposal closing date, and vendor names will be read publicly at the time of proposal closing.
The solicitation does not indicate specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types based on disadvantaged enterprise status. Contractors must comply with Georgia's E-Verify work authorization requirements and provide drug-free workplace certification. Required qualifications include furnishing performance and payment bonds each for the full contract amount, maintaining coverage for twelve months after work acceptance, and obtaining workers' compensation insurance (statutory limits), comprehensive general liability insurance ($1,000,000 per person/$1,000,000 per occurrence), and automobile liability insurance ($1,000,000 combined single limit). All applicable Georgia state laws, City of Marietta ordinances, and federal codes and standards including OSHA, EPA, and ANSI ASTM requirements apply to the resulting contract. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the available procurement documentation. Three original signed proposals and three copies must be submitted in a sealed package to Rick Churbock, CPPB, Purchasing Supervisor, at the City of Marietta Purchasing Division.
