About this opportunity
The State of Maine Department of Conservation, Bureau of Parks and Lands is requesting quotes for fire starters to supply 12 state parks under a one-year Master Agreement, with quotes due April 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. local time and questions due no later than 48 hours before bid closing.
Fire starters must meet specified product quality certifications and not exceed 9 by 13 inches in dimension. The product is available in two variants: with citronella and without citronella scent. Vendors must submit pricing via an attached Excel spreadsheet through the AdvantageME Vendor Self Service (VSS) system, specifying both unit pricing and package pricing with leadtime information.
The contract runs May 1, 2010 through April 30, 2011. Quantities are approximate; the actual contract will cover quantities actually ordered by State agencies during the contract term, regardless of whether orders exceed or fall below proposed amounts. The State reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent.
Pricing must include all transportation costs on an F.O.B. destination basis, with delivery possible to any of the twelve designated state parks: Aroostook, Bradbury Mountain, Camden Hills, Cobscook Bay, Lake St. George, Lamoine, Lily Bay, Mount Blue, Peaks-Kenny, Rangeley Lake, Sebago Lake, and Warren Island. The State is exempt from federal and Maine state sales and use taxes; quotes must exclude these taxes.
Vendors must accept credit card payments with no surcharges permitted; bidders unwilling to accept this condition may have their bids rejected. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in award; discounts under 20 days will not. All hazardous chemicals must comply with Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law and include current material safety data sheets. Tie bids will favor in-state bidders or those offering Maine-produced commodities. All questions must be submitted through the Question and Answer link within the AdvantageME VSS system.
