About this opportunity

The Borough of Slatington, Pennsylvania is seeking sealed proposals for the Fifth Street Improvements 2023 CDBG project, to be submitted electronically through PennBid by September 8, 2025, at 10 am. The project involves rehabilitating Fifth Street and requires contractors to provide all necessary labor and materials as specified in the contract documents. Bidders must submit a bid security of 10% of the total bid amount in the form of a certified check, bank money order, or bid bond. All bids will remain valid for 60 calendar days, potentially extending to 120 days if contract award is delayed by governmental approvals, bond sales, or grant processes. The successful bidder will be required to complete the project within 49 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed and must provide Construction Performance and Payment Bonds equal to 100% of the contract amount, which will also cover a 1-year correction period.

While the procurement documents do not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises, bidders will need to demonstrate responsibility and capability to complete the project. The contract requires the successful bidder to provide comprehensive performance and payment bonds, indicating a need for financial stability and technical expertise. The project appears to be funded through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), which typically involves federal guidelines for procurement. Though a specific budget range is not disclosed in the provided documents, the complexity of the street rehabilitation project and the bonding requirements suggest a substantial contract value. Interested contractors should carefully review the attached project documents, including the Project Manual, Chapter W, technical specifications, and plans, to fully understand the scope and requirements of the Fifth Street Improvements project.
