About this opportunity
This is an emergency contract opportunity posted by the Illinois Office of Communication and Information (IOCI), an agency under the state's Central Management Services division, to replace a 30-year-old satellite controller and satellite dish located at 120 W. Jefferson St. in Springfield, Illinois. The equipment, which is critical for IOCI to fulfill its statutory mandate to provide broadcast communications services for state agencies and governmental units in Illinois, was damaged by lightning and is no longer functional. The procurement includes a 5.0-meter KU band uplink antenna, antenna mount, antenna control unit, downconverters, deicing system, and associated installation and engineering services, with a total estimated cost of $324,475. The contract term is expected to be from April 6, 2022 to July 3, 2022, and there are no existing state contracts available for these services.
This is an emergency procurement, so there are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. IOCI attempted to procure a replacement controller through a competitive process but was unsuccessful, so it contacted the original vendor who installed the equipment in the early 1990s. The procurement will be funded through state appropriated funds, and the successful vendor will be required to integrate with any existing infrastructure or technology as necessary.
