About this opportunity

Martin County Schools is seeking bids for an intercom system replacement at Williamston Primary School, with a procurement process active from January 21, 2025 to February 18, 2025. The project requires a hybrid IP-based intercom system that includes IP speakers for all classroom and instructional spaces, and analog speakers for common areas, hallways, and exterior locations. Key deliverables include a two-way communication system integrated with the existing IP phone infrastructure, allowing staff phones to be used for individual room communication and all-call paging. The system specifications call for digital call switches in all instructional spaces, two administrative phones in the main office, and compatibility with the Bogen Communications Nyquist E7000 Series IP-Based System or an approved equivalent. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for January 29, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Williamston Primary School, with bids to be opened on February 18, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Contractor qualifications include 10 years of established business operations, a valid NC Electrical License, certified installers, an RCDD on staff, and a service office within 125 miles of the project location.

The procurement does not explicitly mention set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The existing infrastructure will involve integration with the current IP phone system, with network switches and PBX integration to be provided by the owner. Contractors must submit three references from similar school district installations and maintain pricing validity for 30 days after the bid opening. The project is funded through a Safety Grant, though specific budget ranges are not detailed in the provided documentation. The system must support comprehensive functionality including individual and group communication, with installation, programming, testing, staff training, and a one-year warranty included in the scope of work. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the bid documents specify technical requirements that potential vendors must meet to be considered for the contract.
