About this opportunity
The Port of Corpus Christi Authority is requesting proposals from registered Retail Electric Providers for electricity supply and associated services across its San Patricio and Nueces County facilities, with proposals due November 12, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Brokers and intermediaries are explicitly excluded, so only registered REPs may respond. Up to 10 evaluation points are available under a Local Preference Program for businesses headquartered in or with established operations in Nueces and San Patricio Counties, with higher points for entities based in the local area.
The solicitation covers 164 ESI IDs with approximately 11,054 MWh of annual usage across office buildings, general cargo docks, petroleum docks, bulk terminals, and other port facilities. Pricing must be flat fixed with unlimited monthly swing for 100% renewable energy credits, with summary billing for all ESI IDs. The Port prefers pricing strategies that protect against nodal basis expenses and desires energy management systems or conservation measures.
The resulting contract is intended to be a renewable, multi-year agreement. The current contract expires on the first meter read after July 31, 2027. Evaluation criteria and points are Fee Proposal (35), Financial Robustness and Experience (15), Customer Care and Service (15), Renewable Energy options (15), Termination Fees (10), and Local Preference Program qualification (10).
Evaluation is scheduled for November 30, 2026, with a Port Commission presentation for award on December 8, 2026. The Port Commission may negotiate with proposers in the competitive range and request best and final offers before award. The Port reserves the right to reject any proposals, delay or decline award, modify the scope of work, and withdraw the RFP at any time.
