About this opportunity
San Bernardino County Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator is requesting bids on two KEL80 and four KDL80SH Cleveland Range electric steam kettles with installation and removal services, with bids due September 24, 2026 at 3:00 PM PDT and questions due September 15, 2026 at 2:00 PM PDT. A 5% local-vendor preference applies to businesses with principal places of business within San Bernardino County boundaries.
The kettles will be delivered to the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto and the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga under F.O.B. destination terms with immediate delivery based on equipment availability. Pricing must be submitted on the County's Attachment C Price Sheet form with all prices stated per unit in F.O.B. destination terms, excluding California sales/use tax and federal excise tax. Payment terms are Net 60 days from receipt and approval of invoice; discounts of less than 45 days will not be considered, and net terms must be at least 45 days.
California Labor Code prevailing wage requirements apply to the scope of work if applicable. Contractors must comply with California Department of Industrial Relations registration requirements (with limited exceptions for projects under $25,000 for construction or $15,000 for maintenance), post prevailing wage schedules at job sites, maintain certified payroll records submitted monthly to the Labor Commissioner, comply with eight-hour workday limitations, and employ registered apprentices at a minimum ratio of one apprentice hour per five journeyman hours for apprenticeable crafts. Noncompliance with prevailing wage requirements results in penalties of $200 per calendar day per worker for underpayment and $100 per calendar day per worker for failure to provide payroll records within ten days of request.
All bids must be submitted electronically through the San Bernardino County ePro system. Bidders must be registered with the U.S. General Services Administration's System for Award Management and comply with California Revenue and Taxation Code section 18662 regarding use tax for non-resident suppliers. Award will be made to the responsive, responsible bidder providing the best value, tentatively scheduled for October 2026. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, modify quantities at award, and conduct pre-award surveys to assess bidder capability.
