About this opportunity

East Georgia State College is seeking qualified suppliers for the Gambrell Interior Lighting Upgrade project, a procurement initiated under the State Purchasing Act for a comprehensive interior lighting renovation at the Luck Flanders Gambrell Building on its Swainsboro campus. The project involves upgrading existing interior lighting systems with new LED fixtures, requiring detailed electrical work including new wiring, switches, and control installations. A mandatory pre-bid conference was held on December 5th, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the Plant Operations Building, which was required for all potential contractors intending to bid on the project. Sealed bids must be physically submitted to Room #112 of the Plant Operations Building by 3:00 PM on January 14th, 2025, with a public bid opening and announcement to follow immediately. The procurement will result in a single supplier award, with contractors expected to meet the technical specifications outlined in the attached construction drawings and contract documents, which detail precise lighting fixture requirements, installation standards, and electrical performance criteria.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions were explicitly mentioned in the contract documentation. Eleven companies were represented at the mandatory pre-bid conference, including H.A. Sack, Inergy Solutions, Moore Electric Co., Y-Delta Inc., Integrated Power Connection, PSG Energy Services, Rentz, Chatham Engineering, Copper Construction, and All Nations Electric. While a specific contract value was not disclosed, the project involves a comprehensive lighting upgrade with a projected material completion and occupancy timeline of 280 consecutive calendar days from the proceed order date. The procurement will be conducted through a competitive bid process, with the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia reserving the right to reject all bids or negotiate with the lowest responsive and responsible bidder if submitted bids exceed the project budget. Potential contractors will need to demonstrate technical capability, electrical expertise, and compliance with the detailed project specifications provided in the contract documents.
