About this opportunity

The Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) in Flint, Michigan is soliciting sealed written bids for the procurement of newly manufactured furniture for the Early On/Early Intervention Services department located at Carman Park. The Early On program provides comprehensive instructional support services, student enrichment programs, and professional development opportunities for students and educators throughout Genesee County. Bidders must supply all specified furniture items detailed in Attachment B, with delivery and installation required during the week of March 7, 2018, at the Carman Park Early Childhood building located at 3375 Van Campen Road, Flint, Michigan. All bid prices must include complete and total delivered costs covering labor, equipment, materials, shipping, insurance, and applicable charges; pricing shall not include local warehouse storage costs, and the contractor is responsible for removal and disposal of all packaging materials. The District requires bids to conform exactly to specified products and finishes as outlined in manufacturer color selections, with no substitutions or deviations permitted. Sealed bids must be submitted by Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. EST to Cynthia McCain, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, and bidders may submit written questions to Dave Burt, Director of Operations, up to 72 business hours before the due date. Bid opening is scheduled for January 3, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. EST at the Erwin L. Davis Education Center, with bid award anticipated at the regular Board meeting on January 9, 2018.

All bidders must submit a notarized Public Act 232 of 2004 Familial Relationship Disclosure Statement disclosing any familial or business relationships with Genesee Intermediate School District Board members, the District Superintendent, and other District officials; additionally, vendors must provide a notarized vendor certification statement confirming compliance with Michigan Public Act 517 of 2012 Iran Economic Sanctions Act, certifying that the bidder is not an "Iran Linked Business," with false certification subject to severe penalties including contract termination, three-year bid ineligibility, and civil penalties of $250,000 or twice the bid amount, whichever is greater. Bids lacking either required certification document will be deemed non-responsive and rejected. All materials must be asbestos-free and lead-free, and all work must comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA requirements. The GISD is exempt from Michigan Sales and Use Tax, and vendors must independently determine their own tax obligations. Bid prices must remain firm for 90 days from the bid opening date, and contract prices shall remain in effect for the duration of the project. The District reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, split the bid among multiple vendors, waive bid information, or cancel the RFP at its discretion. No budget range, award value, incumbent vendor information, or existing infrastructure integration requirements are specified in the solicitation documents.
