About this opportunity
The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks is seeking competitive bids for the procurement and installation of a ductless multi-split heat pump system at the Clark State Fishing Lake office in Ford, Kansas. The Request for Quote (RFQ) requires a comprehensive turn-key installation, including all materials, equipment, and electrical services for a specific Daikin 24,000 Multi-Split heat pump with two indoor 12,000 BTU heads. Vendors must provide a lump sum cost for the complete installation, which encompasses heat pump units, indoor heads, wiring, mounting pipes and brackets, disconnect switch, pipe, wire, and associated fittings. The project has been extended, with responses now due by January 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM CST, and any questions from potential bidders must be submitted by December 12, 2024. Contractors are required to perform the work with their own forces, with subcontracting explicitly prohibited, and must demonstrate prior experience with similar installations. The work is expected to be completed by January 31, 2025, with the delivery location specified as Clark State Fishing Lake at 1834 Highway 94, Ford KS 67842-4202.
The procurement offers preferences for Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses and Certified Businesses, providing potential advantages for qualifying vendors. While no specific set-aside percentages are detailed, the state encourages participation from diverse business types. Bidders must obtain a current tax clearance certificate and submit several required certifications, including Immigration Reform and Control, Sexual Harassment, and Boycott of Israel certifications. Although a precise budget range is not specified, the procurement requires a comprehensive, all-inclusive pricing approach with shipping costs included and no separate tax calculations (as the State of Kansas is tax-exempt). The project involves installation at an existing wildlife area office, suggesting potential integration with current infrastructure. Vendors may be required to provide references demonstrating their capability to complete the specialized HVAC installation. The procurement is managed through the Kansas Department of Administration's Office of Procurement and Contracts, with Morgan Appelhanz serving as the primary point of contact for any inquiries.
