About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) has issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for hotel lodging, accommodations, and meeting space to support the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP) statewide training. The selected Bidder must be located in Orlando, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, or Tampa, Florida, and provide non-smoking, clean rooms with functioning amenities of at least a three-star rating on Expedia.com. The ITB requires the Bidder to accommodate approximately 200 training attendees over four days in April 2024 and June 2024, with specific room block details and meeting space requirements outlined. Bids are due on November 27, 2023, and the anticipated award date is November 30, 2023. The ITB requires the Bidder to provide pricing on a fixed-rate basis, excluding federal excise taxes and state sales tax, for which the State of Florida is exempt.

The ITB does not indicate any specific set-asides, incumbents, or funding sources. However, it notes that failure to file a protest within the time prescribed in Section 120.57(3), Florida Statutes, or failure to post the bond or other security required by law within the time allowed for filing a bond shall constitute a waiver of proceedings under Chapter 120, Florida Statutes. The anticipated award value is not specified, but the ITB outlines the Department's intent to compensate the successful Bidder for the delivered services, with financial consequences for late or non-performance.
