About this opportunity
The Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) is seeking bids from vendors to provide a variety of fresh produce, including onions, peppers, cucumbers, cabbage, lettuce, apples, oranges, tomatoes, potatoes, bananas, garlic, and celery, to the Joliet Treatment Center & Inpatient Treatment Center. The contract term is for one (1) year, with deliveries required bi-weekly. Bids must be submitted no later than July 29, 2024 at 12:30 pm. The contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible vendor who submits the lowest price. Pricing for the initial one-year term must be submitted in the format provided in BidBuy, and the total payments under the contract shall not exceed an amount to be determined by the State prior to contract execution. A pre-bid conference is not mandatory, and subcontractors are not allowed.
The contract is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, and the vendor must certify that wages paid to its employees meet or exceed the prevailing wage rates for the locality. The State's standard terms and conditions for contracts will apply, including requirements regarding payment, audits, confidentiality, indemnification, insurance, and termination. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and no incumbent vendors or current contractors are listed. The potential award value is not specified, but the State will determine the maximum contract value prior to execution.
