About this opportunity

The Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Corrections (DOC) has issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to establish one or more contracts for Laundry Services. The DOC seeks to provide laundry services, including pick-up and delivery, for its facilities across Virginia, including Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women, Lunenburg Correctional Center, Nottoway Correctional Center, State Farm Correctional Center, Virginia Correctional Center for Women, and Sussex II State Prison. The contractor shall furnish all labor, supplies, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to provide laundry services for items such as sheets, pillowcases, blankets, towels, and inmate uniforms. The contract period will be for one (1) year from the date of award and may be renewable. Sealed bids are due by July 2, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time, and pricing shall be provided on a per pound basis for standard laundry, with additional pricing for other items.

The Commonwealth has a statewide goal that 42% of purchases be made from small businesses certified by the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (DSBSD), including women-owned, minority-owned, and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. Bidders must register in eVA, Virginia's electronic procurement system, and pricing includes applicable eVA vendor transaction fees. The DOC reserves the right to award to multiple bidders, and there are no listed incumbent vendors or current contractors. The budget range for this procurement is not specified.
