About this opportunity
The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District is seeking proposals for Districtwide Tree Care and Removal Services through a competitive bid process (RFP #C006873) posted on the PlanetBids Vendor Portal. The procurement is seeking experienced master arborists to provide comprehensive tree care services for a three-year contract term across District properties in Orange County, Florida. Required services include extensive tree management activities such as geotagging, tree risk assessments, structural pruning, soil aeration, root crown excavation, tree growth regulator application, fertilization, insecticide and fungicide treatments, cabling and bracing, root barriers, tree removal, trimming, stump grinding, and emergency tree work. Contractors must possess multiple specialized certifications, including International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Master Arborist, ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ), Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Certified Pest Control Operator, Tree Care Industry Association Certified Tree Care Safety Professional, and various FDOT and Florida Green Industries certifications. The solicitation was posted on June 6, 2025, with proposals due by July 8, 2025, providing potential vendors approximately one month to prepare and submit their responses.
The procurement appears to encourage local vendor participation, with potential preferences for local vendors, veteran small businesses, and opportunity zone businesses. While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed, the extensive certification requirements suggest a robust qualification process that may limit participation to highly specialized tree care professionals. The bid documents can be viewed without registration, but vendors must register on the PlanetBids platform to submit questions and bids. The comprehensive nature of the services suggests a potentially significant contract value, though specific budget ranges are not disclosed in the available documentation. Contractors will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, transportation, tools, and specialized expertise required to monitor and maintain tree health across the District's properties, with a focus on long-term landscape viability and risk management.
