About this opportunity

Bendle Public Schools is soliciting sealed bids for District Paving Improvements at two school facilities located in Burton, Michigan: Bendle Middle School (2294 E Bristol Rd) and Bendle High School (2283 E Scottwood Ave). The procurement encompasses selective site demolition, earthwork improvements, drainage installation, paving, and site concrete work designed by Integrated Designs Inc. Bidders must submit lump sum proposals for three distinct line items: Middle School Paving Improvements, Middle School Paving Improvements Alternate (eastern lot), and High School Paving Improvements. Qualified contractors must provide 100% Surety Bonds covering both performance and payment of labor and materials, with bid security equal to 5% of the bid amount for projects exceeding $50,000. The fixed subcontract price must include all labor, materials, local and state federal taxes, licenses, fees, overhead, profit, insurance, and payment and performance bonds. Bid documents became available for download at no cost on March 20, 2019, at www.intdesigns.com/planroom, and sealed bids must be submitted to Bendle Public Schools Central Office (3420 Columbine Avenue, Burton, MI 48529) by 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, with public bid opening to follow immediately. Potential contractors are encouraged to conduct self-directed site visits, as no pre-bid walkthrough is scheduled. Questions should be directed to scott@intdesigns.com, with responses issued only in formal addendum form at least three business days prior to the bid date. The project may commence any day after May 15, 2019, and must be completed and ready for use by August 15, 2019.

All bidders must submit a familial disclosure affidavit and an affidavit of compliance with Michigan Public Act No. 517 of 2012 regarding Iran economic sanctions, certifying that neither the contractor nor its officers, directors, and employees are "Iran linked businesses." Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of any addenda issued prior to bid submission and must execute the agreement and provide bonds or certificates of insurance within ten days of contract award notification. Bids may not be withdrawn for sixty days after the opening date, or seventy-five days if a cost-reduction addendum is issued. Additional work beyond the base bid and alternates will be compensated at actual cost of labor and materials less any discounts, plus a maximum overhead and profit fee to be specified by the bidder. No specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are mentioned in the bid documents, and no incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified. Bendle Public Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive bidding irregularities, and award to the bid deemed most advantageous to the Owner. Specific award values or budget ranges are not provided in the available documents; interested contractors should contact Matt Wilson at 810-591-2588 or mwilson@bendleschools.org for additional project information.
