About this opportunity
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is soliciting bids for an overhead door replacement project at the St. James truck station located in Watonwan County. The procurement is a formal invitation for vendors to submit electronic bids through the SWIFT Supplier Portal for furnishing and installing a new polyurethane insulated overhead door with specific requirements, including windows, hardware, tracks, control equipment, and weatherstripping. Bidders must provide shop drawings, complete pricing documentation, and responder forms, with all responses due by April 25, 2024, at 12:30 PM Central Time. The door manufacturer must have a minimum of 5 years of industry experience, and installation must be performed by an authorized representative with a 1-year warranty on materials, workmanship, and operation. Evaluation criteria will focus on the lowest responsible bidder who meets all specified technical specifications and contract terms, with the State of Minnesota reserving the right to award the contract separately or in total based on what is most advantageous.
The solicitation appears to have provisions for targeted business participation, potentially offering preferences for small businesses, minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, or disability-owned enterprises in Minnesota. Interested vendors must be registered as suppliers in the SWIFT system prior to contract award, with contractor assistance available through a helpdesk at 651.201.8100. While specific budget ranges were not explicitly detailed in the documents, the procurement is for a single overhead door replacement at a truck station. Interested vendors can arrange a site visit by contacting Kevin Hocke at 507-822-0817 for additional information and access. The contract term is anticipated to be between May and June 2024, with the project focused on updating infrastructure at the District 7 St. James MNDOT truck station. No incumbent vendor information was provided in the solicitation documents.
