About this opportunity
The Maine Department of Transportation is requesting bids for a stationary diesel-fired steam/pressure washer unit with bids due August 25, 2009, with a preference for in-state bidders or those offering Maine-manufactured commodities in the event of tied bids.
The scope is a complete, ready-for-service unit with a minimum capacity of 3.5 gallons per minute, nozzle pressure of at least 2,250 pounds per square inch, an electric motor-driven pump of at least 6 horsepower at 230 volts single phase, and a diesel burner producing a minimum of 330,000 BTUs. The package includes 50 feet of oil-resistant hose with quick couplers, a pistol grip wand with dual nozzles for steam and water, and two extra nozzles of each type. All materials must be new and heavy-duty design suitable for extreme continuous service in full compliance with Federal and State of Maine regulations and OSHA requirements. Delivery is to Fleet Service/MaineDOT at 105 Capitol Street, Augusta, Maine. The vendor must provide two copies each of parts manuals, service manuals, and operator manuals, perform installation and setup at the delivery site, and maintain a parts inventory with 95% availability within 48 hours for standard items and 24 hours for expendable items.
Bids will be evaluated on price, warranty terms, manufacturer performance data, delivery schedule, parts availability, and other factors deemed appropriate by the Department. The State reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive formalities or technicalities. All transportation charges must be prepaid by the contractor, and the State is exempt from sales and use taxes. Bid submission must include a specification sheet with any exceptions to stated requirements listed separately; failure to note exceptions constitutes acknowledgment of full compliance.
