About this opportunity
The Maine Department of Environmental Protection is requesting quotes for a fiberglass utility body with canopy to be installed on a 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD pickup truck, with quotes due June 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. local time.
The scope includes a heavy-duty fiberglass composite service body measuring 96 inches in length by 82 inches in width by 60 inches in height, featuring a steel understructure, 1/8-inch steel treadplate floor, and comprehensive compartment and lighting configurations. The body must be finished in GM paint code 9W3 (Wheatland Yellow) with white interior compartments. Specifications call for exterior stainless steel hardware, adjustable shelving with 250-pound capacity and twenty shelf dividers, master rod lock systems, flow-through ventilation, compartment drains, FMVSS-compliant lighting including strobes and backup alarm, and a class IV trailer hitch with 7-way RV connector. Electrical connections must use heat shrink and heavy-duty wire loom with no Scotch-Lok connectors. Installation and pickup/return of the vehicle to the CFM location in Augusta are required as part of the contract.
Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value, with consideration given to quality, conformity to specifications, purpose, and delivery date. Cash discounts of 20 days or more are evaluated; shorter-term discounts are not considered. In case of tie bids, preference is given to in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine. All transportation charges, including freight, are the contractor's expense and must be prepaid. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine sales and use taxes and will not pay such taxes. Quotes must be submitted electronically. The State reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, waive formalities and technicalities, and increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%.
