About this opportunity
The State of Maryland, through Maryland Correctional Enterprises (MCE), is seeking bids for the provision of approximately 65,000 yards of 100% cotton, indigo blue, 12 oz./sq. yd. denim fabric with a 62" to 64" cuttable width. The denim will be delivered to the Jessup Correctional Institution, the Eastern Correctional Institution, and the MCE Central Warehouse in Jessup. The contract will be for a one-year term, with a one-year renewal option. Bids are due by May 26, 2021 at 10 AM local time, and a public bid opening will be held the same day. Bidders must submit a one-yard sample of the denim prior to the bid opening. MCE will award the contract to the responsible bidder submitting the responsive bid with the most favorable price, delivery times, and required sample.
There are no minimum qualifications for bidders, and there are no Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) or Veteran-Owned Small Business Enterprise (VSBE) participation goals. The current purchasing price for the denim is $1.82 per yard, and the estimated order quantities can vary from 1,000 to 7,500 yards. The vendor will be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate documentation, such as an approval number, is provided to facilitate the invoicing process. MCE reserves the right to terminate the contract for cause or non-performance.
