This is an FHWA-funded project with Davis-Bacon Act wage rate requirements and a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goal of zero percent.

The scope encompasses complete removal of structures and improvements on Parcels 7 and 8 located at 1495 and 1499 North Broadway Road, Lexington, Kentucky. Parcel 8 requires removal of a single-family vinyl-sided home (approximately 1,165 square feet), wooden storage shed (approximately 400 square feet), above-ground pool, septic system, and gravel driveway. Both parcels require complete removal of all concrete, gravel, and miscellaneous debris. Asbestos-containing materials and lead-based paint inspections have been completed prior to solicitation. Work must comply with Kentucky 811 underground facility damage prevention requirements and environmental regulations regarding hazardous materials and proper debris disposal.

The contractor must begin work within ten days of award and complete each parcel's clearance within 21 calendar days of receiving a work order, with penalties of $500 per day assessed after a 14-day grace period. Performance bonds in the amount of the contract or $10,000 whichever is greater are required, along with commercial general liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate. Contract award is anticipated August 6, 2026. No mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held; prospective bidders must conduct independent site inspections.
