About this opportunity

The Charter Township of Chesterfield Facilities & Operations Department is requesting proposals for comprehensive architectural, engineering, and construction services for demolition and rebuilding of a maintenance building within Brandenburg Park, with sealed bids due October 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and a mandatory on-site walkthrough on September 23, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

The scope encompasses site evaluation and demolition planning, schematic design with space programming for administrative offices and equipment storage, structural and civil engineering for heavy-load foundations, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system design, and construction of a modern facility serving as the operational base for the Facilities and Operations team and secure storage and headquarters for Marine 1, the Township's public-safety watercraft. The project is structured in four phases: conceptual designs and preliminary cost estimates (Phase 1), design development and permitting documents (Phase 2), final construction documents (Phase 3), and optional construction administration and closeout assistance (Phase 4).

Pricing shall be submitted as unit prices for quantities specified in Appendix B; unit prices govern in case of computational discrepancy. The Township reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities at the submitted unit price and to make future purchases at those rates for all Township departments. The project is funded through a Michigan grant administered via EGrAMS; the selected firm must comply with all grant requirements, compliance documentation, reporting obligations, and project milestones and completion deadlines.

Bidders must submit three references for comparable projects and provide a firm price guarantee with no cost increases unless otherwise agreed in writing. Bonding is not required. Comprehensive insurance coverage is mandatory: Worker's Compensation at statutory limits, Contractor's General Liability with $1 million per occurrence, Automobile Liability with $1 million combined single limit, and Owner's and Contractor's Protective Liability with $2 million general aggregate. The Township is tax-exempt (Tax ID: 38-6006891). Sealed bids are received at the Township Clerk's office, 47275 Sugarbush Road, Chesterfield, Michigan 48047, and opened publicly following the deadline.
