About this opportunity
The City of Corpus Christi Finance & Procurement Department is requesting bids for improvements to NASCC Lift Station 288 under RFB 7437, Project No. 25033, with bids due September 16, 2026. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for August 27, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi; the pre-bid conference was held August 12, 2026. Addendum No. 2, issued September 2, 2026, materially revised equipment specifications, electrical routing, force-main sizing, and other project parameters — bidders must acknowledge receipt of the addendum in their bid submission or risk rejection for non-responsiveness.
The scope encompasses removal and replacement of sewage grinder pumps, valves, piping, electrical systems, controls, and coatings; installation of AMI metering and lift-station appurtenances; odor control systems; concrete work including a new valve vault and raised wet well (per additive alternate 1); security fencing; removal and replacement of approximately 15 linear feet of force main by open-cut trench; wastewater manhole rehabilitation; and a generator pad with 60 kW generator as mandatory minimum. Key equipment is specified: Wemco Chop-Flow submersible pumps (3 HP, 350 GPM), Siemens HydroRanger 500 ultrasonic level controller, Wager 2050-50 odor control system (or approved equal), and Schedule 80 PVC conduit only. The contractor must furnish the future SCADA enclosure empty with no internal components. Temporary bypass pumping is required throughout demolition and construction. The pump control panel must be built by a UL-698A certified facility with ISO 9001 standards and minimum 4,000 square feet of dedicated shop space.
Bidders must demonstrate five years of continuous operation and satisfactory completion of at least five similar projects of equal or greater complexity within the past five years as prime contractors. Contractor self-performance is required at 50 percent of the work. Bid security is 5 percent of the greatest amount bid. Substantial completion is due within 330 days of Notice to Proceed; final completion within 360 days. Liquidated damages are $785 per day. Award is anticipated in November 2026. The DEAAG grant does not impose "Buy American" compliance or domestic preference requirements.
