About this file
Addendum No. 2 is a modification document issued by the City of Corpus Christi Finance & Procurement on September 2, 2026, for RFB No. 7437, Project No. 25033, concerning the DEAAG NASCC Lift Station 288 (870113S) improvements project. The addendum addresses pre-bid questions and answers, modifications to specifications and drawings, and clarifications regarding project scope. Key modifications include revised specifications for submersible pumps (Wemco Chop-Flow pumps, Part No. 701508-1, with 3 HP motors operating at 350 GPM at 11.5 ft head), changes to the force main size from 4 inches to 6 inches DR-18 PVC, replacement of the ultrasonic level controller from Siemens HydroRanger 200 to Siemens HydroRanger 500, and revised electrical equipment sizing including conduit and conductor revisions for the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) to Pump Control Panel and ATS to Generator routes. The electrical canopy/rack dimensions were corrected to 18 feet length. The project requires only composite rings and covers (no iron), and the DEAAG grant does not impose "Buy American" compliance or domestic preference requirements.
The addendum specifies that bidders must acknowledge receipt in their bid submission under the Bid Acknowledgement Form; failure to acknowledge may result in rejection for non-responsiveness. Primary specifications include installation of a Wager 2050-50 Bottom Flange Odor Control System (or approved equal), Schedule 80 PVC conduit (Schedule 40 not permitted), and a 60 kW generator as the mandatory minimum size. The contractor must furnish the future SCADA enclosure as empty with no internal components, terminal blocks, or wiring included. Temporary bypass pumping is required throughout the demolition and construction period, with flow-rate capacities identified on Plan Sheet C03. The pump control panel must be built by a UL-698A certified facility with ISO 9001 quality management standards and a minimum of 4,000 square feet of dedicated shop space. Backup level control shall operate in lead-lag configuration allowing both pumps to run simultaneously when reaching high-level alarm conditions, and the contractor is responsible for coordinating final pump and motor selections with electrical design requirements and adjusting electrical equipment accordingly.

Addendum No. 2 Attachment No. 2
2. The casing shall be of semi-concentric design, with the first half of the circumference being cylindrical beginning after the pump outlet, and the remaining circumference spiraling outward to the 150 lb. flanged centerline discharge.
3. The hydraulic design of the impeller shall combine the action of a semi-open centrifugal impeller with the action of a fixed blade to chop and/or condition the incoming solid materials.
a. The front of the impeller shall have hardened, spiraled vanes that completely wrap around the center of rotation, pulling material into the cutting area and assuring positive and complete chopping action. The single piece removable and replaceable cutting bar shall extend completely across the cutting vanes of the impeller.
b. The reverse side of the impeller shall include pump-out vanes, each with two cutting slots and a centered labyrinth to prevent any material from reaching the seal area, whether the pump is running or not. The cutting slots shall function integrally with a replaceable cutter ring mounted on the backplate.
c. The impeller/cutter bar clearance shall be externally adjustable by means of adjustment screws. Each adjusting screw shall incorporate a mechanism for positively advancing, positively retracting and positively locking the position of the chopper impeller, so that the necessary running clearances between the chopper impeller and cutter bar can be maintained for optimum chopping capability. This clearance adjustment shall be accomplished without loosening any pump mounting bolts, moving pump flanges or feet, and without the need to dismantle any portion of the pump.
4. The backplate shall be a separate component part, and shall not be integral to the bearing frame and allow removal of the pump components from above the casing.
