About this opportunity

Douglas County School District is soliciting proposals for removal and disposal of surplus technology equipment under RFP 27-003, with proposals due July 30, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EST and a mandatory pre-proposal conference on July 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at DCSD Central Office in Douglasville, Georgia. This is a reversal procurement: the District seeks a flat-fee payment from qualified firms to pick up and process all surplus equipment, with the awardee responsible for data destruction and materials recovery.

Scope includes laptops, desktop computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, Chromebooks, charging carts, telephones, and miscellaneous technology items accumulated during a technology refresh. All equipment is located at a single administrative site and must be removed during September, October, and mid-November 2026 during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). The District does not provide an itemized device list; respondents must be prepared to remove all devices in a single pickup. The awardee must perform data destruction to DOD 5220.22-M standards, remove all District identification markings and etchings, provide scanned serial numbers and service tags at pickup time, and deliver a certificate of data destruction. Hard drives on miscellaneous technology pallets require physical destruction.

Respondents must demonstrate at least five years' experience in similar projects, preferably with public school systems, and maintain liability insurance ($1,000,000 per occurrence), business automobile insurance, and workers' compensation coverage throughout the contract term. Payment to the District must be made in advance of device receipt.

The contract term runs from September 21, 2026 through June 30, 2027, with optional renewal terms of up to four additional one-year periods at the District's discretion. Board approval is anticipated for September 21, 2026, with project completion required by November 15, 2026. The District reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal, award to multiple respondents, or make awards by group or location. Submissions are required through the Euna/Bonfire portal.
