The state and local contract opportunity is for the procurement of mortuary services by the Illinois State Police (ISP) within the jurisdictions of Cook County, Illinois and the City of Chicago. The vendor must be licensed as a Funeral Director by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and respond to calls for service 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The vendor must arrive at the scene prepared to remove deceased persons from expressways in Cook County within 60 minutes of receiving a call for service from the ISP, and transport the deceased to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. The vendor must comply with all relevant state regulations regarding the transportation and disposition of deceased persons. The pricing for this contract includes the cost of the coroner bag, which the vendor must provide.

The state and local contract opportunity does not appear to have any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are listed, and no information is provided on existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. The total award value or budget range for this procurement is also not specified in the available documents.
