About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking to enter into a single source contract with iXsystems, Inc. for a 5-year subscription to store pavement data, including Pavement Condition Surveys (PCS) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) data, which requires the ability to store 27,500 miles of roadway data, approximately 137.5 terabytes per year. FDOT has determined that iXsystems, Inc. is the only available source for the required data storage solution, as their TrueNAS Open Source storage operating system and appliance is the only known application that offers an Enterprise, highly-available, fully supported storage system built on OpenZFS available as a subscription model. The estimated dollar amount for this contract is $324,890.00, and the procurement is posted in accordance with Section 287.057(5), Florida Statutes, with a due date of July 23, 2024.

This procurement is a single source acquisition, and there are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The incumbent vendor is iXsystems, Inc., and the procurement requires integration with their proprietary TrueNAS technology. The posted budget range is $324,890.00 for the 5-year contract period.
