About this opportunity
The Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) has issued a Purchase Order Request for Proposals (PORFP) for the procurement of Cisco network communication equipment, including network switches, installation and training services, and manufacturer's extended warranty. The MIA's existing enterprise network switches have reached end-of-life and need to be replaced to ensure the continuity of critical VPN, VoIP, and network services for the agency. The new switches will allow the MIA to build a segmented network with Access Control Lists (ACLs) to enhance security. The PORFP is seeking proposals from authorized Cisco resellers and requires the submission of a Letter of Authorization and MSRP screenshot. Proposals are due by September 6, 2023, and the contract term is for 1 year. The award will be made to the most advantageous proposal based on price and conformance with the technical requirements.
The PORFP has a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation goal of 25% for the installation and training services. Bidders are required to complete the MBE Utilization and Fair Solicitation Affidavit & MBE Participation Schedule to outline their plan for meeting the MBE subcontractor participation goal. The contract opportunity does not indicate any set-asides, incumbents, or budget ranges. However, the MIA is seeking to replace their end-of-life enterprise network switches to ensure the continued operation of critical services and enable network segmentation with ACLs.
