About this opportunity
The California State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) is seeking a grantee to actively engage with Indigenous individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families, Tribal health organizations, and other partners in California. The selected grantee will be responsible for providing outreach, training, and informational materials about critical health supports and services in a culturally sensitive and plain language format. The SCDD has allocated $125,000 for one or more 18-month grant projects, with the project period running from March 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026. Eligible applicants include local government agencies, non-profit organizations, and Tribal organizations. The application process includes an administrative review, a scoring panel evaluation, and a minimum passing score of 75% to be considered for an award. Grantees will be required to submit bi-monthly progress reports and a final report, and must comply with a non-federal match requirement, which is 10% for projects serving urban or rural poverty areas and 25% for all other projects.
The SCDD is prioritizing projects supported by a Memorandum of Understanding with a Tribal health agency and led or co-led by individuals from Native/Tribal communities, family members, and/or people with I/DD and lived experiences. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and the SCDD has not specified the number of applicants to be funded. The funding for this opportunity is provided through federal grants from the Administration for Community Living (ACL), and the SCDD has not listed any incumbent vendors or current contractors.
