About this opportunity

The City of Fort Myers, located in Lee County, Florida, is pursuing a sole source procurement for a Crime-Lite AUTO forensic evidence imaging system from Foster+Freeman USA Inc. This specialized equipment is a comprehensive crime scene and laboratory digital camera capable of full spectrum UV-Vis-IR documentation, designed to capture evidence across multiple wavelengths including body fluids, fingerprints, gunshot residues, and trace evidence. The procurement is being conducted under Florida State Statute 287.057(3)(c), which allows for non-competitive acquisition when only one source is available. The solicitation was posted on February 12, 2025, with a response deadline of February 26, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. ET. The specific product includes a high-sensitivity 20.1MP color/IR camera with advanced LED illumination, a motorized filter wheel, integrated touchscreen display, and comprehensive accessories. While this is not a formal competitive solicitation, potential alternative suppliers are invited to submit product information and qualifications through a vendor questionnaire for consideration.

The procurement appears to have no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations. The total quoted procurement value is $45,015.08, which includes the Crime-Lite AUTO kit at $42,815.08, on-site training at $1,950.00, and shipping costs of $250.00. The equipment comes with a 24-month warranty and a dispatch period of 6-8 working weeks. Funding for the procurement is identified from budget code 002-1002-521-6400 (1) / PA 41000080-0001, which is part of the department's 2025 approved budgeted equipment. The City of Fort Myers will be required to set up Foster+Freeman as a registered vendor before finalizing the procurement. Payment terms are established as Net 30 days, with a potential 3% surcharge for credit card payments. The purchasing agent, Rose Theriot, can be contacted at rtheriot@fortmyers.gov for any inquiries related to this sole source procurement.
