About this opportunity
The City of Albany, Georgia is requesting qualifications for engineering consultant services on the Nottingham Way Widening Project (RFQ #22-062), with qualifications due May 11, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. EST. The City anticipates awarding one multi-phase, project-specific contract to a single firm.
The scope includes traffic analysis, survey work, roundabout design to City and Georgia Department of Transportation standards, civil plans for bidding and construction, project specifications, right-of-way requirements with plats and property descriptions, and limited bid process and construction observation services. The project involves widening Nottingham Way from two to five lanes between Stuart Avenue and Whispering Pines Road, upgrading two lanes from Whispering Pines Road to 12th Avenue, and extending 12th Avenue to Dawson Road, with proposed roundabouts at intersections with Whispering Pines Road and 12th Avenue.
Evaluation weighs firm and project team experience (35 points), understanding of project scope and purpose (20 points), familiarity with City of Albany and GDOT design requirements including roundabouts (20 points), project approach and creative solutions (15 points), and workload and availability (10 points). Compensation is to be negotiated following selection, with the City authorized to negotiate first with the top-ranked firm and, if necessary, proceed with lower-ranked firms.
Respondents must maintain professional liability insurance of not less than $1 million per claim, provide evidence of Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act compliance, and demonstrate at least one year in business under the present company name. The project is funded locally using special local option sales tax revenues with no state or federal funding. Sealed qualifications must be submitted in one original, six hard copies, and one CD or flash drive with electronic PDFs to the Procurement Division at 222 Pine Avenue, Suite 260, Albany, Georgia 31701. Written questions are due May 4, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. A pre-submittal conference was held April 20, 2022 via Zoom. Payment terms are Net 30 unless otherwise specified.
