About this opportunity

The North Carolina State Ports Authority is soliciting sealed lump-sum bids for NCSPA Contract No. C-1786, construction of an equipment shed and Industrial Drive improvements at the Port of Wilmington, with a pre-bid meeting on November 19, 2026 at 2:00 PM and bids due December 17, 2026 at 3:00 PM. Bidders must clearly indicate their North Carolina General Contractor's License Number on the bid envelope. This is a single prime construction contract.

The project includes a new 302-foot by 50-foot pre-engineered metal building (canopy) with concrete foundations, slabs, and utility services. Associated work covers site demolition, full-depth pavement installation, pavement milling and overlay, drainage and grading, maintenance of traffic, bollards, fencing, lighting, and miscellaneous appurtenances. Four additive alternates are available for bid: canopy roof drainage (approximately 750 linear feet of underground storm drainage piping), heavy-duty pavement upgrades with thickened sections, Virginia Avenue drainage improvements with associated pavement replacement, and plumbing shed electrical work.

The pre-bid meeting takes place in the North Carolina State Ports Authority Conference Room in Wilmington. Sealed bids are submitted at the North Carolina Maritime Building, 2202 Burnett Boulevard, Wilmington, NC 28401, and are publicly opened immediately after the deadline. GFT Infrastructure, Inc. is the designer, and Christopher Nerell is the owner contact at the North Carolina State Ports Authority. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities.
