About this opportunity

The City of Moab in Grand County, Utah, is seeking qualified contractors to perform complete abatement and disposal of asbestos-containing materials and structure demolition services for a fire-damaged single-household residence located at 737 Mountainview Drive. The procurement involves comprehensive services including managing the removal of friable and non-friable asbestos materials, demolishing the damaged residential structure, and properly disposing of all materials at designated landfills. Key objectives include complete removal of compromised structural elements and ensuring full compliance with local and state environmental regulations. Contractors must provide notification to regulatory agencies, including the Utah Department of Environmental Quality/Air Quality, a minimum of ten working days before commencing demolition activities. The bid submission deadline is September 17, 2025, with bids that do not provide full service being rejected as incomplete. Asbestos testing has been pre-completed by a qualified testing firm, and documentation is available in the bidding documents.

While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned in the documentation, contractors must demonstrate technical competence in asbestos abatement and demolition services. Disposal requirements are specific: friable asbestos will be transported to a contractor-selected landfill accepting such materials, while non-friable asbestos must be taken to the Klondike Landfill in Moab. The City will directly cover landfill disposal fees only at the Moab Landfill. Other materials will be directed to either the Moab Landfill or Canyonlands Transfer Station. Though a precise budget range is not specified, interested contractors should review the attached bidding documents, including the bid form and contract for services template, to understand the full scope of work and potential financial considerations for this project.
