About this opportunity
The Maryland Department of Health-Behavioral Health Administration (MDH-BHA) is offering one-time grant funding opportunities for Maryland community colleges to establish or expand behavioral health programs and initiatives. The grants, with a total budget of $3.2 million, will be awarded for a 12-month period from May 10, 2024 to April 30, 2025. Eligible activities include expanding the behavioral health workforce, offering mental health training, enhancing campus outreach and telehealth services, and implementing prevention and promotion efforts. Applications are due by April 17, 2024 and must be submitted through the eMaryland Marketplace Advantage (eMMA) system. The grants will be awarded as firm fixed-price agreements, and the budget and budget narrative must be submitted separately from the project narrative. Indirect costs cannot exceed 10% of total direct costs, and certain items such as building/land purchases, vehicle purchases, and cash incentives are ineligible for funding. Quarterly progress and fiscal reports will be required, and all expenditures must be supported by invoices with specific information.
This funding opportunity is open to all Maryland community colleges, and there are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. MDH-BHA intends to make multiple awards as a result of this Request for Applications (RFA), with individual grant amounts ranging from $100,000 to $150,000 per community college.
