About this opportunity
The State of Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Division of Procurement Services, is requesting quotations for two commercial-grade log splitters with log lift and log catcher systems under RFQ 03A 230816-046, with quotations due August 30, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
Each unit must feature a horizontal ram with 37-ton force, approximately 30-inch stroke, maximum 24-inch log diameter capacity, 300-pound or greater log lift capacity, one 2-way and one 4-way wedge at approximately 11 inches in height, and a trailer hitch fitted for a 2-inch ball. One unit will be delivered to Bolduc Correctional Facility in Warren, Maine, and one to Mountain View Correctional Facility in Charleston, Maine. Quotations must be submitted through AdvantageME Vendor Self Service and must include the Appendix A Bid Cover Page and Debarment Form (wet or electronic signature), a quote on company letterhead with vendor and manufacturer part numbers, quantity, and unit price, manufacturer product data sheets documenting specification compliance, and warranty information.
All bid prices must be submitted with FOB Destination shipping terms; vendors must include all shipping charges in quoted prices. The State is exempt from federal, state, and local taxes and will not pay taxes on articles not for resale. Award will be made on a best value basis considering product quality, specification conformity, and delivery dates, with the lowest-price conforming bidder selected. The State reserves the right to negotiate additional unit purchases at the bid price for six months following award and to deny award to bidders with documented poor performance or terminated contracts within the previous five years.
Questions are due two business days prior to the August 30 closure. Delivery is requested as soon as possible after receipt of order, with delivery timeframe potentially factored into the award decision. There is no guaranteed award; all purchases depend on bid results and departmental budget availability.
