The contractor must maintain 24/7 emergency response capability with mechanics on-site within 45 minutes during business hours and one hour on weekends and holidays. The contract term runs from January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2031, with the City retaining the right to terminate annually on January 1 from 2028 through 2031 with 30 days' advance written notice. Pricing shall be submitted as monthly charges for each elevator for each year, with separate rates for overtime and callback services. Bid security of 10% of the base bid amount is required. The contractor must maintain general liability insurance of $1 million and workers' compensation insurance as required by Illinois law, with the City named as additional insured. The contract is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Bids will be opened publicly and read aloud at City Hall, 150 W. Jefferson Street.
