The Manassas Park City Schools (MPCS) in Virginia is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit bids from qualified vendors to replace the aging chiller unit at Manassas Park High School (MPHS). MPCS is seeking a highly energy-efficient chiller unit with a minimum 15-year life expectancy, an extended warranty, and compatibility with the existing automatic logic system at MPHS. The successful vendor will be responsible for furnishing all labor and materials to complete the chiller replacement project, which must be done in accordance with the stated requirements and completed between June 10, 2024 and June 30, 2024. Proposals are due by February 20, 2024, and MPCS plans to award the contract by March 12, 2024 after school board approval. Vendors must provide a firm, fixed-price quote that includes all costs, as MPCS will not approve any requests for reimbursement of travel or other expenses.
The RFP does not mention any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. There is also no information provided about any incumbent vendors or current contractors, or any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. The RFP does not specify a budget range, but states that the successful vendor must comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, including provisions related to ethics in public contracting.
